A Fellow Member of The Institute of Company Secretaries of India. He started his career in the banking industry in 1982 and then moved on to the corporate sector in 1989 and subsequently worked with various industrial houses of repute including United Leasing Ltd. and Suraj Vanaspati Ltd. He continued in the employment till 1996 and thereafter has been engaged in the professional works. During his tenure he handled Loan syndication with various Financial Institutions for Rupee and FCL loans; liaison with SEBI for public and Rights issue of shares, with State Financial Corporations for Joint Venture Projects, with RBI / FIPB for the foreign investment and related matters including JV approvals. He effectively controlled the cost of capital by aggressively and successfully re-negotiating the interest rates with the banks and FIs.
In the professional capacity, since 1996, has been advising corporate clients on matters of Project financing, Equity structuring, Loans syndication, Project implementation, Takeovers, Mergers and Acquisitions, Corporate Restructuring, Revivals, MIS system development and Management consultancy services to the Promoters. He has to his credit a number of ‘Turnaround’ stories in the last 6-7 years and has worked with a number of Private Equity players, ADB/AFIC.
He has got in depth experience of strategic advice and solutions in the areas of M & A, restructuring, turnaround services, financial modeling, risk assurance and structured financial solutions. Expertise in international financial restructuring involving the DTAAs of the countries involved.
